Pharmacy Residency

Pharmacy Residency

If you're seeking to acquire the knowledge and skills to practice as an independent clinical pharmacist in an acute care environment and prepare for a post-graduate year two residency (PGY-2), apply to our Pharmacy Residency Program. The Program offers a post-graduate year one residency (PGY-1), accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), to two qualified pharmacists each year.

As a pharmacy resident, you perform the functions of an acute care hospital pharmacist, including prospective review and processing of orders, clinical chart review, attending codes and traumas, participation in patient-centered rounds, completion of pharmacy service consults, and contributing to all aspects of mediation distribution. Pharmacy service consults include, but are not limited to, anticoagulation, antimicrobial stewardship, parenteral nutrition, and medication management.
